Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners. Some cookies are strictly necessary; others are used for analytics or marketing.
2. What we use cookies for
- Essential — needed for the site to function and stay secure (page load, our hosting provider's bot protection, and storing your cookie-consent choice).
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, only set if you give consent. Helps us understand which pages are useful and where to improve.
- Marketing — none currently used. The toggle is reserved in case we add ad-attribution in the future; if added, it would still require your consent first.
3. Cookies set by this site
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users for analytics | 2 years | Analytics — only set with consent |
_ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics | Persists session state | 2 years | Analytics — only set with consent |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot management / security | 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
cookieConsent (localStorage, not technically a cookie) | This site | Stores your consent choice so the banner doesn't reappear on every page | Until cleared | Necessary |
4. How to change your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. That re-opens the consent panel where you can toggle Analytics on or off and save the change.
You can also clear your browser's local storage for this site to reset the choice — the consent banner will then reappear as if it were your first visit.
Most browsers also allow you to control cookies through their settings. The UK Information Commissioner's Office publishes guidance for users at ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/online/cookies.
5. Updates to this policy
If we change which cookies the site sets, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. For broader privacy questions, see our Privacy Policy.
